Cablenet Communication Systems PLC seeks to recruit a full-time person for the following career opportunity based in Nicosia:
TV Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, administration and support of Cablenet’s TV Ecosystem:
- Administration of TV Systems infrastructure, including Satellite equipment, Linear TV, TV Playout/Distribution Systems, Linux and Microsoft Servers, Middleware BackEnd, Content Delivery Network, VM, storage and network infrastructure and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Day-to-Day Operational tasks such as ingest of TV schedules and VOD packages, production validation testing, deployment of patches, upgrades, migrations, installation and configuration of new equipment and services
- Assist on documentation of procedures and equipment data sheets and system designs
- Periodic on-call shifts for resolving TV related issues (3rd level support)
- Provide timely response to all incidents
- Work as part of a highly motivated, focused team
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in telecoms sector will be considered an advantage
- Hands on experience with Unix/Linux, Windows server, client/server applications, scripting, switching/routing is desired
- CCNA, LPIC or other recognized IT related certifications are desired
- Analytical thinking and proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
